The sun has been shining, I’ve been filing in applications and getting some bunting made, so what better to do than make some biscuits? Recently I’ve been baking chocolate cookies, but I’m a bit bored of them, so had a little trawl through the cupboard and decided to get going with some oats and golden syrup.
If you want to have a go yourself then this is how I did it:
Ingredients
100g soft brown sugar
80g butter
100g self raising flour
50g oats
1 1/2 tablespoons of golden syrup
Optional: rasins, chocolate drops, mini marshmallows, dried cranberries etc.
Method
Pre-heat the oven to about 180 degrees C.
Mix together the butter and the sugar until fully combined. Add in the golden syrup and mix well.
Next, stir in half of the flour and oats, along with any optional extras you want in your biscuits.
Add in the last of the flour and oats and combine.
Divide the mixture into about 10 – 12 small balls and place on a greased or lined baking tray. Don’t squash them down, they will spread out themselves as they cook.
Cook for about 10 – 12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Remove and leave to cool on a wire rack.
They look delicious Ellie. Hope you are well xxx
